SSC 99 - Rules And Submission Addresses
- Contest runs from June 1st to August 31st.
- No limit on number of stories.
- Please submit only new stories.
- Stories should have something to do with spanking.
- Readers are allowed and encouraged to submit entries.
They will not read and comment on their own work.
- Each story will be read by one member of the reading
panel, who will offer comments. Comments won't be made public
until after the contest is over. There won't be a star system
for rating stories.
-
However, in order to satisfy the competition jones of some
folks, at the end of contest the NG will vote on best story
in the following categories:
- Romance
- Historical
- Domestic (ie, husband spanks wife or vice versa)
- Schoolboy/girl
- Science Fiction
- Parent/child (or vice versa)
- Edge fiction
- Gender Play
- Best Collaboration (I think it would be kewl to see
some of our NG writers collaborate on stories)
- Parody/tribute
- M/M
- F/F
- Ageplay
- Femdom
- Stories that escape classification
- Within the post itself please identify which category
you're submitting the story to. If you're not sure which
category to put your story into, I'll be happy to help. And
if you don't want to categorize your story, no problem.
Please submit it for the reading pleasure of the NG- you'll
still get a comment, and who knows, a groundswell of support
from the community may lead to you winning an award of some
sort, anyway. That's anarchy at its best <g>.
- Stories should be 500 words or less (not including
titles, disclaimers, copyright notices, etc). I'm not going
to get hung up on counting words, though, so we won't quibble
about entries with 510 words.
- Everyone will also be allowed to enter one long story (no
more than 5000 words) into the festival. Each long story will
be read by a volunteer and receive a comment; however, these
stories will not be judged.
Important Technical Rules:
- Entries should have a Subject that begins with SSC. Mail
sent to the entry addresses without this may be shoved off to
the side until a human was a chance to look at it and confirm
that it really is a story.
- Entries should be mailed to
<ssc@gelemna.ft-wayne.in.us> and posted to the NG.
Please make sure you e-mail your story to this address,
otherwise it won't be forwarded to one of our readers.
- If you normally post via an anonymity server, use a spam
blocker in your address or just don't won't to get mail from
an autoresponder, please mail your stories to
<ssc-nr@gelemna.ft-wayne.in.us> instead. This just
suppresses the sending of the confirmation note and is mainly
intended to protect the contest tech support person from
large numbers of bounce messages.
- By entering a story you agree to allow it to be archived.
The archive for this year's stories will be on the
coordinator's site until the contest is finished, at which
point it will probably join those from past years at the
soc.sexuality.spanking resource site. Stories will be
archived with the address they were mailed from.
- All comments from the readers will be held until after
the contest is complete. After they are announced on the
newsgroup, they will be added to the archive.
- Please use the entry addresses only to enter stories.
Questions, comments or other correspondence should be sent to
the readers panel at
<ssc-readers@gelemna.ft-wayne.in.us>.
- Entries will be accepted between June 1, 1999 and August
31, 1999. Entries received after the deadline will be
returned, if possible, unread.
